About ETIAA

The primary purpose of ETIAA is to assist the A.A. groups of East Tennessee in carrying the Alcoholics Anonymous message to those who suffer from alcoholism and to facilitate 12 Step work. ETIAA operates as a service body responsible to its Member Groups, deriving its legitimate authority from them. ETIAA is run by volunteer AA members and one special worker.

In all its activities, policies, and proceedings, ETIAA is committed to observing the practice and spirit of A.A.’s Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts for World Service, as well as its three legacies of Recovery, Unity, and Service.

In Alcoholics Anonymous, our Three Legacies are “Recovery, Unity, Service.” Carrying the message of recovery to those who still suffer from alcoholism is our fellowship’s basic service and principal aim. AA is a society of alcoholics in action; any act that helps us reach a fellow sufferer, from a 12-Step call to broader support efforts, embodies our Third Legacy of Service.

Get Involved: How You and Your Group Can Help

There are several ways you and your group can support ETIAA:

  • Representation: Send an Intergroup Representative from your group to the monthly Intergroup Meeting.
