About Intergroup Representatives

Purpose

The Intergroup Representative serves as your Home Group’s voice to ensure that the Intergroup Service Office functions effectively and carries out its Primary Purpose. Representatives facilitate two-way communication between their Home Group and Intergroup.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • All AA groups are welcome to participate and are eligible for membership
  • Groups elect both an Intergroup Representative and an Alternate Representative
  • Representatives typically serve a 2-year term (determined by each group)
  • Recommended minimum sobriety: 2 years (though each group determines their own requirements)
  • Once elected, representatives are entitled to vote at Intergroup Representatives Meetings

Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly Intergroup Representatives Meetings (12 times per year)
  • Maintain communication between Home Group and Intergroup
  • Review meeting materials and share information with Home Group
  • Participate in decision-making processes

When: 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM excluding holidays
